Checking in

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well. The weather has finally changed here and so everyone in my household has the sniffles and the scratchy throat. Well, except for me, I'm crossing my fingers.

Have been reading Christina Dodd's new "Darkness" series. Quite interesting. I liked the first one, but then I like a bit of adventure and running from some bad guys in my romance. And she's kinda got a new take on and old subject.

Also, went and bought some new books to read:
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Jinx by Meg Cabot
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I hope that they will be good. I'm looking forward to a good read!

I've been writing on several projects here lately but mostly still trying to get TWAB in order. I'm going to be doing most of my writing updates over on the "Work Blog" so if you're interested in what I'm doing writing wise it will be posted over there. You might even get some snippets of a little something now and again.

Anyway, gotta go back and get busy. Need to bake a cake for tomorrow. September is a big birthday month around here.

Inspiration that's right on time

This morning I woke up to an e-mail where I had signed up for daily inspiration, not necessarily writing inspiration but any kind of inspiration. This is what was in my mail box.

I don't know if the universe is trying to tell me something but it made me smile dark and early this morning. The last few days have been a struggle because I'm having to do some post construction. Which I guess might be a little like ripping out a foundation and re-pouring the concrete. It's frustrating work, and I'm not known for my patience. But I "Believe" in this story so I won't give up on it. It's a good one.

Why it's never a good idea for me to clean.

I'm serious. I've done all the paperwork for my hubby and now I can't find it. Ack!!! Which means that I've put it somewhere in this house for safe keeping. Now I just have to find the safe spot.

Bugger!

September Goals

Mostly they are pretty simple and straight forward. I'm going to be off the internet for most of September and writing. While I love the internet it really wastes too much of my time and that is something I don't really have a lot of right now. I'm home schooling my daughter, doing the books for my husband, and will more than likely have to go work part time somewhere. My vote is at a bookstore so internet time will be very limited. I'll still be blogging at night but won't really have a lot of time to go blog hopping like I normally do!

So anyway I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend. I'm off to write!

Do I need a title?

I'm not sure. I do want to say first of all if you don't like the music? You can turn it off by pressing the first button on the music player and that will turn it off. So maybe I can come to some compromise with it or move it over to my work blog. LOL. Janie was talking tonight about why she blogs and I thought about it myself. I don't really know why I do it. It's not so much any more to talk about the writing process because other people, meaning non-writers, get bored with hearing all that stuff anyway. I think most people who blog either like to hear themselves talk or for me it's a great way to start writing for the night. It gets those writing muscles or my fingers warmed up.

This week has been rush rush. Last week I didn't write at all. I thought a lot about my story and what I want it to say. Not so much that I want to thrust a moral down someone's throat but to tell a story or spend this much time writing you have to have something important to say or a belief system of some kind. I think my belief is that true love, an equal love, where both parties are committed can save a soul or souls. I truly believe that. I've found that and maybe I see so many others that haven't that I want to send out a beacon of hope that it can happen. But you have to leave yourself open for it as well.

But at any rate...I'm still working on the story but I need to get my lead's goal in order. I don't want to revise any further because the story is hollow without it. Gotta fix it.

Working on the outline for Cathal's story. Playing. Fiddling with it. And a retelling of AKFTR. Playing and fiddling with that too.

I kind of like having the music match one of my posts. Like "I don't like your girlfriend" goes with John Tucker must die movie review.
